WHSB Welcome Back Their Army Cadets

Westcliff High School for Boys Welcome Back Their Army Cadets

The Westcliff High School for Boys Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Army Section, warmly welcomed back their student cadets, this year complying with imposed safety restrictions. Year 10 cadets (aged 14-15 years old) continued with their training carousel, rotating between camouflage and concealment, hand signals, formations and moving with a rifle. In Year 11, the cadets (aged 15-16 years old) reviewed harbour drills, sentry duties and fire control orders with Sargeant Jim Kilbride from the Colchester Training Team, whilst Year 12 cadets (aged 16-17 years old) focused on working towards their Cadet Instructor qualification with Captain Andrew Baggs.

Quote:
Lieutenant Harry Tresidder: "Our committed Combined Cadet Force at Westcliff High School for Boys is delighted that we are still able to accommodate activities for all our cadets in these unprecedented times. The CCF provides focus, discipline, comradeship and essential life skills for all our students, equipping them for the future."
