Old Westcliffians return for School-led Teaching Internship Programme

Following another successful recruitment campaign, we are delighted to welcome back to WHSB nine Old Westcliffians who are completing the School-led Teaching Internship Programme, part of a Department for Education initiative. Targeted at undergraduates studying for a degree in STEM-related subjects or languages, the aim of this three-week summer Internship Programme is to give those participating a taste of teaching before considering it as a career.
Our interns this year: Adam, Lakshan, Harry, Noah, Teddy, James, Ismail, Shabaa, and Sebastian are studying for degrees in Computer Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Mathematics, and Physics. During the three-week programme, they will be shadowing experienced teachers, observing lessons, and gaining experience of what school life is like for a teacher outside the classroom. We are pleased they have chosen to participate in the programme and wish them well.
We are grateful to Mrs Lo-Whitford and Mrs Williams for facilitating the programme, and to Mr Steel, Mr Madrid-Arranz, Miss James, Mr Rahman, Mrs Hammond, Mr Lo, Mr Huntington, Mr Dalby and Mr Hudson for mentoring the interns.
